Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Prison Island Berlin is an indoor play and leisure centre including: a welcome area, a bar, a relaxation area, arcade games and 2,000m² of play area including 33 cells with challenges!

Often confused with an escape game but completely different!

In an escape game, you and your team generally have 1h to play through a brainy scenario. At Prison Island Berlinthere’s a much larger play area with 33 cells featuring 33 different challenges (physical, technical, intellectual). Plus you’re free to choose your own path, doing and redoing the challenges within the chosen time.

Try to solve as many cells as possible with your team. If you fail, you can try a cell again or quickly choose other ones to visit. Some cells require several visits to score full points. Watch out! The clock’s ticking…

Our play system is based on points: every successful challenge wins you between 25 and 100 points. The goal is to score as many points as possible!

Big screens set up in the welcome and play areas display your ranking in real time!

Challenge the teams of the day, week or TOP 3!
A real challenge between several teams! Be the best!

Prison Island Berlin is a concept aimed at everybody.
The minimum age to access the game is 5 years old. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by at least one parent in the team to keep them safe, help them understand the challenges, and reassure them in a very immersive environment (sound effects, lights, sets, effects, etc.). Perfect as a family or for a birthday!
Anybody entering the play area will be considered a player.

no, Prison Island Berlin only requires booking for businesses, groups of more than 20 people, and birthdays.

The game runs non-stop and we set teams off as soon as they’re ready. I can turn up during opening hours and be sure to play.

But definitely watch out for busy periods (Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.) and school holidays

Of course not! The prison’s challenges are tailored to the general public. The diversity of the challenges and the teamwork-based concept mean everybody can take part according to their abilities and preferences.

A cell you don’t like the look of? No worries, you can move on to another one without getting stuck and keep scoring points!

Comfortable clothing to do a light physical activity is best (trainers, shorts and T-shirt). High heels are not allowed and bulky footwear is not recommended. Maybe bring a spare T-shirt if you’re looking to score big!

You need to choose a play time of 1h, 1h30 or 2h.
Add approx. 15min for registration and the team briefing.
After the game, extra time might be needed for debriefing, scores and refreshments.

Prison Island Berlin Berlin can host 20 teams of 5 people at the same time. Ideally, for optimal playing comfort, teams of 3-4 people are recommended.

The game is accessible with 2 people, but some challenges will be more complicated to do and you won’t be able to score full points in some cells.

All sorts of set-ups are possible and teams can be adjusted until the last minute at reception. Our team will help you find the most comfortable solution.

To respect the scoring, please avoid mixing teams once they’ve set off.

It’s a team game, so you can follow your teammates through the prison at your own pace, and let them handle the physical challenges you don’t feel up to. You’ll be right in the thick of it and able to support and help your team in plenty of ways. Need a break? You can leave the play area and our team will let you meet up with your team again during play.

Prison Island Berlin is designed so you don’t miss out on any aspect of the adventure.

Most of the challenges and part of the play are not optimised for wheelchair access. (Presence of stairs, steps, sets, etc.). The welcome-reception areas and bar are accessible.

But with a view to allowing anybody to access the concept, our team will do its utmost to find a suitable solution. In several cases, we’ve been able to help and adjust the play format to let everybody have a good time.

We don’t have an on-site catering service. There’s a bar serving soft drinks, draught & bottled beers, and a range of sweet & savoury snacks.

The prison is surrounded by several restaurants less than 5 min away.

To be able to welcome you under the best conditions you need to arrive approx. 15 to 20 minutes before the time you’re planning to play. This time is needed to welcome you, create and register the teams, put belongings in lockers, and attend the briefing. Impatient? Start thinking up a team name!

1h, 1h30 or 2h? Prison Island Berlin features 33 cells: it’ll take you quite a while to make it through the prison, find the cells, understand how things work, and successfully solve the challenges.

In 1h you can do approx. 15 cells. In 1h30 you can do approx. 20 cells and theoretically you can do them all in 2h. This is an average observed over several teams: it’ll all depend on how fast you progress. No set route, no map!

A simply-designed locker system with padlocks is available to store jackets and small bags. We recommend you don’t bring any valuables and leave bulky belongings in your car.

N.B.: telephones cannot be used in the game for reasons of confidentiality, and to avoid any risk of breakage.
